Friends Of The Library

friend1Have you joined your Friends of the Library?

Library lovers everywhere are invited and encouraged to join their local Friends of the Library group. These dedicated volunteers advocate for libraries, raise much-needed funds, sponsor programs, and special events, and host popular used book sales. If you haven’t joined your Friends, contact your local library and find out how to join today.
Vidalia-Toombs County Friends of the Library

Since forming in 2015, the Friends of the Library have donated thousands of dollars and hours to all three library branches to purchase new children's books, new computer tables, the library's pop-up library, large print books, and children's furniture.

The Friends also fund programs and prizes for our Summer Reading Program held each May, June, and July.

They have hosted a series of speakers including Georgia authors and a Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court.

The Friends donated $10,000 to the renovation of the Vidalia-Toombs County Library's new Spark Lab, which will serve as the children's programming area and STEAM room.

This contribution will help with the library's goal of being a 21st-century library by allowing us to have a dedicated space for children's programming dedicated to *STEAM programming.
